The giraffe, indigenous to sub-Saharan Africa, is the
tallest animal in the world. The male giraffe stands an average of 17
feet in height. The coloring of the giraffe is used as camouflage from
its predators. The coat is a light tan and is covered with medium brown
blotches, which darken as the giraffe ages. The markings on each giraffe
are as unique as fingerprints.
